After a yearlong wait, Tata Trusts gets Narasimhan as its new CEO

The yearlong wait of the Tata Trust for its CEO is rewarded by one of the old-timers from Tata Group, Srinath Narasimhan. Narasimhan will be in this new role with effect from April 1, 2020. Another swift move in the leadership is the appointment of Pramit Jhaveri as a trustee of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. He has moved from being the CEO of Citi India to take up the new role from February 12, 2020.

Since Ratan Tata’s blue-eyed boy Narasimhan joined Tata Administrative Services in 1986, he has held high positions in the Tata Group, including the CEO of two other group companies viz. Tata Communications and Tata Internet Services.

The new CEO’s roles and responsibilities will demand Narasimhan to deal with the heat of the moment. Prsesntly, the Trusts are dealing with litigations from the Income Tax department. In addition, the group is amidst a legal dispute with its former Chairman, Cyrus Mistry.

Narsimhan played an instrumental role in transforming the Indian entity into a global organization. Having joined Tata Administrative Services(TAS) in 1986, he has played a role in developing and guiding future leaders for different Tata group companies.

Tata Trust held the vacant post since R.Venkataramanan stepped down from being the Managing Trustee early last year. Since then, the operations were managed by a group of trusted officials under the guidance of Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Trusts.

From the background of outperforming in several challenging situations and contributing towards developing future leaders for the Tata Group, this new shift in the leadership of Tata Trusts shall shove a new way towards efficient management of the Trusts.
